Comparison (Perbandingan)

Look at these prices!
Shoes A = Rp100.000
Shoes B = Rp200.000
Shoes C = Rp250.000

From the prices above, we can make some conclusions :

1.
a. Shoes A is cheaper than Shoes B.

2.
b. Shoes B is more expensive than Shoes A.

3.
c. Shoes C is the most expensive than all shoes.
d. Shoes A is the cheapest than all shoes.

* Sentences 1 and 2  are called Comparative. It is used to compare 2 things that have differences.
We can use
[....  Adjective (1 syllable)+er   + than...... ] in sentence a, or
[.... + more +  Adjective (2/3 syllable) + than .....] in sentence b.
#For 2 syllable with ending -y, we add -er and erase the -y letter and changed by -i. Example: Happier, easier, crazier, funnier, pettier, etc.

# One syllable: smart, cool, fast, slow, light, dark, clean, fun, lucky, smooth, hard, etc.


# Two syllable : handsome, pointed, famous, clever, gentle, etc.


# Three syllable : beautiful, fabulous, important, delicious, etc.

# Irregular : good = better , bad = worse , many = more




* Sentence 3 is called Superlative. It used to compare 3 things that have differences.
We should use [.... Adjective(1syllable)+est + than ....] in sentence d, or
[..... + most + Adjective(2/3 syllable) + than ....] in sentence c.

#For 2 syllable with ending -y, we add -est and erase the -y letter and changed by -i. Example: Happiest, easiest, craziest, funniest, pettiest, etc.


# One syllable: smart, cool, fast, slow, light, dark, clean, fun, lucky, smooth, hard, etc.


# Two syllable : handsome, pointed, famous, clever, gentle, etc.


# Three syllable : beautiful, fabulous, important, delicious, etc.

# Irregular : good = best , bad = worst , many = most
